I've made radio documentaries for BBCRadio1 and 1Xtra including a two-part series on the history of UK club culture and a well-received documentary on young social entrepreneurs. Other documentaries covered why people make music and the rise of visible tattooing.
I’m currently writing for The Creative Independent, The Developer, the New Humanist, The Analogue Foundation’s website and The Wellcome Collection’s Stories strand.
I host a monthly show on Worldwide FM, playing music and interviewing a guest. These have included young artists Novelist, Laura Misch and Theon Cross as well as established artists, from Dennis Bovell to Nitin Sawhney.
I wrote a regular column on devotional music for RBMA and a Sonic Meditations column which takes a deep dive into listening for audio company Bowers & Wilkins. I am a contributor to nature and culture website Caught By The River.
I was a founding contributor of influential Manchester music magazine, Jockey Slut and then went to work on staff at THE FACE. My writing appeared in The Guardian, Observer, Independent and in a range of music publications in the UK and America including Melody Maker, Mixmag, Select, Dazed & Confused and TimeOut. I was editor-at-large for The FADER in New York.
